Saturday, January 19 2pm-7pm ET (1pm-6pm CT) easy CANCELLED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER FORECAST BLUE GRASS FWA, INDIANA - For winter birds, waterfowl, raptors and owls (Short-eared and Long-eared. 105 species have been reported here during the month of February over the last 10 years. 1 hour and 45 minute drive from Downtown Louisville. Take I-64W to Exit 29A for I-69/IN 57 South toward Evansville. Then take Exit 15 for Boonville - New Harmony Road. Turn left (east) onto New Harmony Road and in a half mile look for a gravel parking area labelled "Parking Lot 16" on the left just before you get to the lakes. There is a sizable area to cover, so we will be birding some by car and relocating frequently. Bring scopes, snacks, and birding friends. Dress for the weather. Saturday, March 30 8;30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. moderate HARRISON-CRAWFORD STATE FOREST – For early warblers and other migrants. Isaacs Bottom trailhead and go along Blue River, then we will drive a short distance (1/8th of a mile) and continue with a hike up on the bluff overlooking Blue River. Directions: Head west on I-64 and get off at the Corydon exit. Make a right onto highway 135. Go through 4 stoplights, making a right at the 5th stoplight onto Indiana State Route 62. Go about 8 miles until you see the entrance sign for Harrison Crawford State Forest. Make a left over the bridge over Blue River. This is State Route 462. Go about 1/8th of a mile up the hill. Arrive a few minutes before the scheduled field trip. The time stated is the STARTING time, not the arrival time. This will give you time to sign the release form and be ready to go.
If you're not a member of the Beckham Bird Club and plan to go on a field trip, please be prepared to provide your contact information to the field trip leader.
Please refrain from unnecessary phone conversations and the use of tobacco products and/or e-cigarettes while among the other participants
